Residential Services
The majority of the service recipients at G. B. Cooley receive daily supports and supervision through community home living. G. B. Cooley operates a number of community-based homes located all across Ouachita Parish. Each home provides 24 hour per day care for 6-8 residents. At G. B. Cooley we strive to structure the environment and the activities of each home around the needs and preferences of the residents.

Home and Community-Based Services
HCBS provides up to 24 hours per day supports and services in the living arrangement chosen by the service recipients and their family. This program provides staff supports for daily living activities, employment, medical needs, social and recreational pursuits. This program is designed to promote individual choice in regards to the type of services, the time and duration of services, the provider of services, and the living situation in which services will be received.

Employment Training and Support
This program helps individuals develop employment skills and secure and maintain viable employment. This is accomplished through individual and group placements in which staff provide supervision and support to ensure the success of one’s employment pursuits. G. B. Cooley has a number of labor contracts with local companies in which service recipients provide the majority of the labor. In addition, G. B. Cooley supports a number of individuals as they work directly for local companies and industries.

Day Habilitation
Day Habilitation provides a combination of pre-vocational training and daily activities for individuals’ who may choose not to pursue competitive employment opportunities. This program seeks to provide an alternative to supported individual and group employment services.
